I really believe that "Tracy" was that
once-in-a-lifetime bitch. She was a beautiful show dog, but more important
that that, she was wonderful companion for my five-year-old daughter and me.
Tracy started her show career at the National in Ft. Worth, Texas. She
placed third in the very large 6-9 Months Puppy Bitch class. She was just a
few days over 6 months when she marched into the ring with style. Two days
after flying home from Texas, Tracy received her first points from the 6-9 months
puppy class. Her next outing was at the Moore County Kennel Club show
where she was awarded best English Cocker Puppy and First in the Sporting Group
under Judge Ann Rogers Clark. Tracy then proceeded to win Best in Show
puppy at the tender age of 6 1/2 months. In August of 1999, Tracy won the breed at Harrisburg Kennel
Club under Breeder-Judge Suzanne Dillon. She was also pulled in the group.
What an honor for a nine-month old puppy!! Tracy finished her championship
from the 9-12 puppy class in October of 1999. Breeder-Judge Jesse Pheiffer
and Judge Houston Clark awarded Tracy her final points.
We had intended on starting her specials
career in Spring 2000, but an appointment to have a chipped tooth fixed ended
everything that we had hoped for. Tracy's life was lost on March 2nd,
2000, after complications from anesthesia. This has been the hardest loss
we have ever had to endure at Winfree. We truly miss our ray of sunshine!!
