Meet Winfree's newest champion--Drummer. At the Santa Maria (CA) Kennel Club show on July 9, 2006, Drummer was Winners Dog, Best of Winners, and Best of Opposite Sex over the dog specials for a 5-point major!!! Mr. Sam Hurt judged this specialty-supported entry and Valerie Nunes-Atkinson was the handler. Drummer is affectionately called "Dylan" by his owner, Melanie Kelly. | |

We've got the first of the two majors we need!!!! Drummer (aka Dylan) went Winners Dog > Best of Winners for a 3-point major at the Lake Mathews Kennel Club show on April 29, 2006. Our thanks go to Judge Jane Borders for this exciting win. The two-day shows were held at the Prado Regional Park in Chino, CA. Drummer's point total is now 12!!

Four
days, four shows, three points!!!! Drummer won Best of Breed three of
the four shows!!!! WOW!!! The first set of shows were sponsored
by the Yuma Kennel Club. Judge Houston Clark gave Drummer Winners Dog
and the Breed on day one (December 2, 2005) and Judge Mrs. Patti Long Smith
gave him Winners Dog and the Breed on day two (December 3). The second
show set was sponsored by the Imperial Valley Kennel Club. Drummer
went Best of Opposite Sex under Judge George Heitzman on day three (December
4) and Winners Dog > Best of Breed under Judge Merlin Van De Kinder on day
four (December 5). All shows were held at the Yuma County Fairgrounds
in Yuma, AZ and Valerie
Nunes-Atkinson handled him beautifully in the 9-12 Month Puppy Classes.
Drummer is now singled out and Melanie will be looking for those majors. What a California November weekend!!!! Drummer picked up 2 more points making his total now 6. The first show was held on November 5, 2005 and sponsored by the San Gabriel Valley Kennel Club. Giving Drummer Winners Dog > Best of Winners was Judge Lowell Davis. The next day's show was sponsored by the Antelope Valley Kennel Club and Judge Stephen Hubbel gave Drummer Winners Dog > Best of Winners. Both shows were held in Irwindale, CA. The first show was sponsored by the San Gabriel Valley Kennel Club and held on November 5, 2005. Judge Lowell Davis awarded Drummer Winners Dog > Best of Winners for 1 point. The Antelope Valley Kennel Club sponsored the second show held on November 6. Judge Stephen Hubbell also awarded Drummer Winners Dog > Best of Winners for 1 point. Our thanks to judges Davis and Hubbell for these wins. I am just so proud. |

Kniola on September 25, 2005--day 2 of the Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club show, Drummer went Winners Dog for 2 points. This show was held in Cypress, CA. Kim Estlund (Lizzie's owner) handled Drummer today. Keep up the good work guys!!! |

GREAT NEWS!!! Drummer has his first points. At the Santa Barbara (CA) Kennel Club show on August 28, 2005, Drummer went Winners Dog for 2 points. Judging the English Cockers that day at the Earl Warren Showgrounds was Mrs. Patricia Mowbray-Morgan. Congratulations, Melanie. Great job of handling Drummer, Kristen. |

| On July 7, 2005, at just over six months old, Drummer had his first win!!!! Drummer was First in the 6-9 Month Puppy Dog class showing to breed judge Bonnie Threlfall at the 26th Annual Specialty Show for the English Cocker Spaniel Club of Southern California in Ventura!!! Handling Drummer was Kristen Kelly, Melanie's daughter. Way to go, Drummer and Kristen!!!!! |
