Ch. Ashbrook Famous Footsteps
February 2010
Hi Lisa & family -
Just wanted you to know Winnie is doing so very well. She definitely is
Bob's girl, and unless she is on his lap or right next to him, she goes
from door to door just waiting for him. She is very lovable to me also,
but Bob's her first choice.
With all the snow, we haven't been able to do much walking. Am really
looking forward to some nice Spring weather to get us outside.
Winnie got groomed about 3 weeks ago -- our groomer, Michelle, fell in
love with her. Knowing Winnie is a little shy, Michelle just kinda took
it slow with her, but by the time I went back to pick her up, they were
best buddies. Winnie just seems to have to get to know people in her
own time.
I've attached a few pictures. Some are of Winnie at Christmas and in
the snow. We are having a lot of fun with her. Bob and I are
looking forward to watching the Westminster Dog Show next week. Will
you have any entries? We always wait anxiously for the English
Cockers. Saw some new puppies on your web site, and, of course, they
are all adorable!!
Keep in touch as you have time - we love hearing from you.
Love,
Joan, Bob & Winnie

ChaCha is a special girl. She was from Fame’s first litter sired
by Winfree Boxhill Bucaneer, Pete. ChaCha was sold to Fred and Janet
Langley of Janfreds American Cockers. Fred loved ChaCha to death and
carried her everywhere. I think that’s when ChaCha decided that she
didn’t have to be a show dog!
After she was two years old and had her health clearances, Fred decided to
breed his first English Cocker litter. He bred ChaCha to
BIS Ch. Ashbrook Cruise Control WD. In her
first litter, ChaCha produced Ch. Winfree’s Drummer
Boy (born on Christmas Day 2004). This was the first English
Cocker champion bred by Fred.
After that litter was born, I asked Fred to let me lease ChaCha so that I
could repeat that litter. That’s when Ch. Winfree’s
Dom Perignon and Winfree’s Exported Champagne
were produced. After that breeding and a bit of time, Fred and Janet
decided to give ChaCha back to me. I was, of course, thrilled to have
her back.
We later bred ChaCha to Ch. Winfree’s No Work and All
Play. ChaCha had a large beautiful litter of 7. Unfortunately, we
lost 4 of the puppies and almost lost ChaCha to a severe respiratory
infection. The only puppy in that litter to be shown is
Winfree’s We Work for This, who is now major
pointed.
We are thrilled that Cha Cha is here with us. She’s a wonderful girl and so
deserving of having a spot on our website. |
