"Duckie" was given to me by Karen Blair at a show in
September 2002. Karen believed that Duckie had a different agenda than
that of her own; so, Duckie came to live with me in Virginia. Her first
outing with her new family was Halloween. My daughter, Taylor, dressed
Duckie up in a witch costume, and they went out Trick or Treating.
Duckie's first show was the weekend of the 2003 Regional Specialty in South
Carolina. At her first show, she received a 4-point major under Judge
Charles Self. She also won her 6-9 month puppy class at the Specialty
under Judge Thora Brown.
Her next outing was at the Maryland Sporting Dog Association (date?). She
was awarded Reserve Winners bitch to a 5-point major, Best English Cocker Puppy,
and then Best Puppy in Show at the Sporting Dog Event!
Duckie received yet another major at the Chesapeake Kennel Club show in Maryland, still
in the 6-9 month puppy bitch class.
We have VERY HIGH hopes for this young lady!
Duckie is co-owned by Lisa Ross, Mindy Bartholomew, Tracey Deyette, and Karen
Blair.
Our little girl has done it again!!! At the Beckley West Virginia Kennel
Club dog show on Saturday, April 26, 2003, Duckie won Best of Opposite Sex in
the 9-12 month puppy class under Judge Barbara Alderman, bringing home a
3-point major.
What a day for Winfree at the ECSCA-supported show the day
after the 2003 National in Minnesota ended. This supported show was sponsored by the
Key City Kennel Club and held at the Nicollet County Fairgrounds in St. Peters,
MN. Under Judge Anne Clark, Duckie won Winners Bitch and then went on to
win Best of Winners. Duckie now has four majors and just needs one point
to finish!!
New Champion!!! At the Southern Maryland KC show on Saturday, June 28,
2003, Duckie finished her championship by going Best of Breed from the 9-12
month puppy class under the same judge, Charles Self, that gave her her first
major in her first show. Duckie won over a BIS champion AND she received
her title just 2 weeks shy of her first birthday. A lot of firsts for this
little girl.
We are extremely proud of Duckie and delighted that she has come to live with us
at Winfree.
Duckie stepped
out in style at the Warrenton Kennel Club show in Leesburg, VA. On
September 25, 2004, she won Best of Breed under Judge Charles Self. Duckie
continues to prove herself in the ring in a top-quality manner and we couldn't
be more pleased.
Duckie continues
to astound and amaze us. On October 28 and 29, 2004, during the first
two days of the Soaring Gull Circuit (Virginia Beach, VA), Duckie won
Best of Breed both days!!! Ms. Linda More was judge for the
Tidewater Kennel Club show (October 28) and Mr. Howard Yost was judge for
the Langley Kennel Club show (October 29). Many thanks to both judges
for
such awesome wins.
