Hi Lisa,
I just wanted to update you about little Phoebe. She is really a great dog,
and just gorgeous. We love her to pieces. She follows me everywhere in the
house, including into my closet. She likes to extract shoes and socks and
carry them triumphantly around. She and Nebbi, the blue roan ECS, play
constantly. We still have our very elderly and infirm ACS, but she is
getting frailer every day.
Phoebe learned how to swim in the ocean in the summer and she likes it. She
originally went in to escape from a neighbor's standard poodle who wanted to
play with her. Now she goes in on her own! She also likes walks in the
woods. I can let them off leash and they run to the hearts' content.
She also is not afraid of climbing different surfaces (like onto the hood of
the convertible Miata when it's stopped). I think she might be a good
agility dog. I'm taking her to beginning obedience, and she's learning the
usual novice level things. She's not so good at "Stay", though, as she
would rather be moving. I think she thinks we go to obedience class so she
can visit with her neighboring dogs, which she likes to do. Her attention
is pretty good, though, and I have some hope that slowly, slowly, we both
can learn together.
We will be getting her spayed on Wednesday, and microchipped. I just wanted
to let you know. I haven't sent her papers in because I've been waiting to
spay her.
I'll send you some pictures soon.
Thank you so much for letting us have our little darling girl, Phoebe.
